01.22: The Radiators – Tipitina’s

After playing together for over 33 years with the same cast of characters and no extended hiatuses, The Radiators are disbanding at the end of summer 2011.  Between now and then, however, they seem dead set to make at least one last stop at all the familiar venues and famous haunts they’ve gotten to know over the years.  Dyed in the wool Fishheads are no doubt in bittersweet lament over the thought of a M.O.M.’s Ball or Jazz Fest without dependably epic sets from the Rads, but they are giving all fans plenty of opportunities to catch them before hanging it up.

After crushing their slot at The New Orleans Po-Boy Preservation Festival, taking a trip to Mid-City Lanes Rock ‘n’ Bowl, and annihilating the Maple Leaf two nights in a row, The Radiators are bringing their monkey-business to Tipitina’s for maybe the last time.   And if the previous shows on their final run are any indication, The Rads will be there with bells on, sounding as good as they have every sounded and quite possible having more fun than ever.
