I’m concerned about how Brooklyn’s financial statements are going to turn out. If Brooklyn owes the charmer under you, then Brooklyn’s account with said charmer falls under accounts payable, a liability. All those other things sound like expenses, which are accounted for as assets.

An excellent point, and one we wrestled with while creating this particular infographic. However, upon further examination of this song (http://www.granatino.com/sdresource/9lyrics.htm), we find out Donald Fagen is listing a set of rewards he believes is owed to his neighbor – the “charmer” – for the indignities he suffered at the hands of Brooklyn.

Therefore, Brooklyn posesses the charmer, yet owes him a variety of pleasant experiences (at least in the eyes on Fagen and Becker).

Dude, I think you have assets and liabilities reversed.
